The 2023 program had the motto “see(h)nsucht … sentiment sehnsucht, spiegel see”, and explored the question of the extent to which ‘alongside other emotions, longing can also be understood as a basic feeling of expression in the visual arts’, with ‘Lake Millstatt itself acting as the venue, performer and metaphor of a place of longing’. In 2023, artistic forms of expression were offered in the fields of painting, sculpture, light installation, urban art, land art installation, photography and film.
